Students did a notebook check in class. Students watched a BrainPop video on classification of living organisms. Students made a mnemonic for the levels of classification. That assignment can be found here. Thursday, there was a substitute in science. Students read an article about the discovery of the giant, woolly rat and the difficulties in classifying it. There were questions that went with the article.
After the article, students had the following options:
Wednesday:
We read pages 19-21 in class and took notes. The template for the notes can be found here. I passed back tests on Tuesday and went over the correct answers. ALL students may choose to do test corrections. Directions for test corrections are here.
Monday:
Students worked on workbook pages 40-42 in class. I talked one-on-one with many students this week about their notebooks. There was no homework this week, only fixing updating notebooks or writing test corrections. Tuesday: Students finished the workbook pages and were supposed to make a chart (like the one on page 15 in the textbook) that detailed the 6 characteristics of living things. They were to include the characteristic, its definition and an example. |
